Clinical Assistants
What are Clinical Assistants?
Clinical Assistants (CLs) are highly skilled health professionals with health care/medical backgrounds that provide medical services under the supervision of a licensed physician. The principal difference between a CL and a PA is that CLs are not graduates of a PA degree program. All CLs are required to undergo an assessment of their skills before they are eligible for registration with the CPSM. This assessment is conducted through the Department of Continuing Medical Education (CME) at the University of Manitoba.
