Locum Opportunities - Manitoba Locum Tenens Program

The Manitoba Locum Tenens Program(MLTP), operated through Manitoba’s Office of Rural and Northern Health matches rural locum tenens opportunities with available and approved physicians. The MLTP is designed to provide support to rural communities with four or fewer permanent physicians. The duration of locum assignments is a minimum of five (5) days to a maximum of twenty eight (28) days.

The program offers a wide variety of opportunities across rural and northern Manitoba. Attractive daily stipends are provided for medical services rendered during normal office hours. Emergency / out- patient services are compensated in addition to the daily stipend. As well, office support, travel time honorarium, mileage and accommodations are provided.

In order to qualify, physicians must be licensed and registered to practice in Manitoba, and be certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), or be willing to obtain certification prior to accepting a placement.

What a great way to experience a rural or northern medical practice in Manitoba!
